Delegates from around the world are gathering virtually and in person at Niagara Falls this week between 9th and 12th November for the 15th Global Conference on Ageing “Rights Matter”.  A number of GAROP members and activists are among them and preparing to engage throughout the diverse and exciting conference program.  The Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People (GAROP) is proud to be a conference partner supporting this important event. We are grateful to the IFA for its generous support that is enabling GAROP’s participation in different aspects of the conference.

The conference is structured around five themes and will be a high-quality event bringing together like-minded groups of people from all different geographical areas who share a common interest in the field and want to expand their knowledge, get insights and find possible solutions to problems. The International Federation on Ageing (IFA) is hosting this event both virtually and in person for the first time enabling delegates to connect safely from around the globe.

You can view the full conference program here.

As the Global Alliance we are organising two workshops at the conference under the title ‘The human rights of older persons and the campaign for a UN convention.’  GAROP activists from Bangladesh, Canada, Costa Rica, Mauritius and Tanzania will present their experiences of national advocacy, including involvement with our growing ‘Age With Rights’ campaign.
