Membership fees

This is where members of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Older People (GAROP) can pay their annual membership fee for 2025.

We are now moving into a new exciting phase of advocacy towards a UN convention following the landmark developments at the 58th UN Human Rights Council session in April 2025. Congratulations to all who contributed even in a small way to this historic decision. Your commitment and support are more important than ever now to enable us to sharpen our focus and influence the upcoming negotiations on the content of a new convention.

Please follow these steps to make your fee payment:

  1. Consult the table below to find the membership fee that applies to your organisation. This depends on the country where you are located and your organisation’s total annual income. You can check the amount in your local currency before paying using the currency converter below.
  2. Then add the amount you are paying and click ‘Pay membership fee ($ USD)’ to complete an online form and make your payment either by debit card, credit card, or Paypal.
  3. You will receive an online confirmation/email receipt from PayPal when you make your payment. The receipt will show HelpAge International’s details as GAROP’s host organisation. Please keep this receipt for your records. If you require a more personalised receipt, please add this request to the comment field in the online form below.
  • If you require a personalised invoice (in particular UK members requiring a VAT invoice) and/or wanting to pay by bank transfer, please contact the Secretariat before paying. UK-based organisations are asked to contact the Secretariat to request a VAT invoice.
  • Contact the GAROP Secretariat at info@rightsofolderpeople.org if you have any questions or would like to make a payment not associated with a member organisation.

(Please note that the information you provide on the online form on the next page will be received by GAROP and used only for the purposes of tracking payments and communicating with you about your payment if necessary. The financial information you provide will only be received by Paypal and not by GAROP).

  2. Members should aim to pay the fee that corresponds to their organisation’s overall total annual income from all sources.
  3. We recognise that some organisations may from time to time have limited unrestricted income available for this type of expenditure. We ask that organisations aim to contribute as much as they are able to within any such constraints.
  4. We encourage members who are able to pay more than their required fee to do so.
