World Elder Abuse Awareness Day (WEAAD) is marked annually on the 15th June and usually focuses on a particular theme each year. This is another important campaign date for our members and many engage in national public campaign actions and focus advocacy work on elder abuse around this date. It is an opportunity for older people to campaign for their right to freedom from violence, neglect and abuse and to bring their concerns and recommendations to decision-makers in their country. It also serves as a global platform to raise awareness of and challenge elder abuse.
