On 13th March GAROP held its latest webinar in the series organised in partnership with the International Federation on Ageing. The webinar focused on learning from the experiences of civil society involvement in other UN human rights processes. Tina Minkowitz, the founder of the Center for the Human Rights of Users and Survivors of Psychiatry, shared her experiences of the process of negotiating the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities.  Ferdous Ara Begum, former member of the UN CEDAW Committee and current HelpAge board member, talked about her work on women’s human rights in particular the preparation of CEDAW General Recommendation 27 on older women’s rights.
